Terms of Service

The rules of the relationship between Ekaabo and everyone who uses it.

Last updated: 19 May 2026

Plain English summary

1. Who these terms apply to

These terms apply to anyone who creates an account on Ekaabo or uses the platform — individuals, businesses, churches, schools, nonprofits, or any other person or organisation using Ekaabo to manage guests. By creating an account, you agree to these terms.

2. What Ekaabo provides

Ekaabo is a guest management platform. It lets you create and manage events, invite guests, manage RSVPs, check guests in using QR codes, handle walk-in registrations, assign tables and sessions, generate attendance reports and badges, and manage multiple ushers across your events. We reserve the right to add, change, or remove features with at least 14 days notice for significant changes.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You must provide accurate information when you register and must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

4. Your responsibilities as an organiser

When you use Ekaabo to manage an event, you become a data controller for your guests' personal information. You are responsible for having a legitimate reason to hold their data, keeping it accurate, and responding to guest requests about their information. You may not use Ekaabo to collect data under false pretences, send unsolicited messages, impersonate others, or engage in any illegal activity.

5. Subscriptions and payments

Ekaabo offers a free plan and paid plans (Starter, Pro, Business). Subscriptions are billed monthly through Flutterwave in your chosen currency — NGN, USD, GBP, or EUR. We do not offer refunds for partial months. If a payment fails and is not resolved within 7 days, your account reverts to the free plan. Your data will not be deleted. If we increase the price of your plan, we will give you at least 30 days notice.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use Ekaabo to collect personal data without a legitimate reason, send spam, impersonate others, attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform, or upload malicious code. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms.

7. Data and privacy

How we handle personal data is covered in our Privacy Policy. As the organiser, you are the data controller for your guests' information. Ekaabo processes that data on your behalf as a data processor.

8. Intellectual property

Ekaabo and everything that makes it work belongs to Ekaabo. Your data — your events, your guest lists, your reports — belongs to you. You can export your data at any time from your account settings.

9. Uptime and availability

We target 99.9% uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. The offline check-in feature exists precisely because we know internet connectivity at events can be unreliable.

10. Limitation of liability

We are not responsible for the outcome of any event you manage, any loss arising from platform downtime, data entered incorrectly, or consequences of unauthorised access resulting from your failure to secure your credentials. Where liability cannot be excluded under Nigerian law, our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

11. Ending this relationship

You can cancel anytime from your settings page. Your paid access continues until the end of your billing period. We will give you at least 14 days notice before suspending your account for any reason other than a serious violation of these terms. If we ever shut down Ekaabo, we will give you at least 90 days notice and provide a full data export tool.

12. Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Contact us first at hello@ekaabohq.com — most issues can be resolved without involving courts.
